Early departure from Rome to Castelluccio di Norcia. On the way you will stop in Spoleto. Nestled in a wide valley surrounded by the mountains of Umbria, Spoleto is one of Italy's most beautiful hill-towns. Its majestic landscape and ancient city walls contribute to Spoleto's inviting atmosphere and make it a wonderful place to tour. Its rich history includes the first Roman settlement of Spoletium which began in 241 BC. Its splendid architecture includes the Duomo, the Teatro Caio Melisso and the Ponte delle Torri, the Bridge of the Towers, an awe-inspiring medieval bridge spanning 262 feet above the gorge below.

The tour continues to Castelluccio di Norcia that it’s is more than a simple little Umbrian town. Castelluccio is an emotion, a magic place where men and nature blend themselves and find their harmony. Every year, during many weeks between May and July, an incredible mosaic of colours breaks the chromatic monotony of the grazing lands and it is able to fill eyes and heart. Thousands of flowers bloom the plateau, bursting with colors, with shades ranging from yellow ocher to red, from violet to white.
You can admire lentils (cultivated in Castelluccio, they are one of the most typical local products), gentianella, poppies, narcissuses, violets, asphodels, Eugeniae violet, clovers, oxalis and many more.

The site of Orvieto is among the most dramatic in Europe, rising above the almost vertical faces of tuff cliffs that are completed by defensive walls built of the same stone called Tufa. Seemingly sprouting out of the volcanic rock on which it stands, the hilltop town boasts a history that dates back to Etruscan times.
Stretch your legs and walk around the town, seeing highlights like the 14th-century Orvieto Cathedral – a masterpiece of Gothic architecture with a glistening façade of stained glass, mosaics and sculptures. Soak up Orvieto’s charms and admire the countless churches that are scattered around its center. Visit of some ancient winecellars.
The city of Orvieto has always been well-known for its local crafts such as ceramics, lace making and wood carving. Quaint stores and workshops line the small streets in the center making for excellent shopping opportunities.
